AN ORIENTATION PROGRAM ON CENTRAL UNIVERSITIES ENTRANCE TEST


After a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, students of X and XII are set to face their first offline board examinations since 2020. As a tradition set right from the foundation year, a special assembly was conducted for the students of X & XII on 17.4.2022 to wish good luck to students. All do’s and don’ts of board exams and all important instructions were given to the students.

CUET is a redesigned version of CUCET that is now mandatory for all central universities. This follows the roadmap in the new National Education Policy (NEP), which envisages the use of an entrance exam for university admissions. An Orientation Programme was conducted for students of both X and XII by Mr Kamlesh Kumar, PGT Geography under the guidance of Mrs Seema Baxi, Dean Academics- Seniors. Finest details regarding CUET were given to the students. The major points covered were:

1.    The registration date,

2.    Conducting bod

3.    CUET will consist of Section 1A, Section 1B (optional), General Test & Domain specific subjects. Section 1A and 1B are test of language.

4.    The CUET Exam will be in two shifts.

5.    The question paper will be MCQ type only and each question is likely to carry 1 mark each.

6.    There will be a negative marking (1/4thof the mark allotted) for each wrong answer.

7.    For certain courses like the Integrated Programme or LLB or MBA or other such programs, there may be only general aptitude section.

8.   Marks secured in Class XII board exams will not carry any weightage in university admissions

9.    No changes in the quota of reserved seats

10. CUET to be conducted in 13 languages

11. CUET Syllabus to be based on Class 12 NCERT textbooks
