BK BIRLA CENTRE FOR EDUCATION, PUNE (IPSC MUN)


The IPSC MUN Conclave was an integrated Model Assembly of Nations held from 13th to 15th September 2021 organized by B K Birla Centre for Education, Pune via online mode (ZOOM platform) due to COVID situation with the theme “Many Approaches, One Goal: Equitable World”.

The main Committees were :   

  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
  • International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
  • The Andean Committee of Nations and Central American Integration System (ACN AND CIAS)
  • Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha (LS & RS)
  • World Wide Fund (WWF)


Agendas of UNHRC were :

  • First Agenda - “To set up a South Asian War Crimes Tribunal to investigate the recently concluded Civil War and unrest in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Afghanistan and for the Baloch people”
  • Second Agenda - “To form a special taskforce to investigate China’s stance on South China sea.”


Agendas of ITU were  :

To make a regulatory body advising Governments on measures to tackle the Dark Web.

To recommend the Right to Internet as a Basic Human Right and include the same in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). 

Agendas of ACN AND CIAS were  :

First Agenda - To Declare Amazon Fire as a Climate Change Emergency.

Second Agenda - To agree on consolidate passport for the entire South America

Agendas of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha (LS & RS) were :

Their two main agenda were division of Uttar Pradesh into four states and Madhya Pradesh having 3 state capitals. Both the agenda were well discussed.  

Agendas of World Wide Fund (WWF) were :

1st Agenda “To create a Global Fund to facilitate the movement of nations and island states to shift from its current sovereignty intact in the light of climate change”

 “To declare scarcity of water as a ‘Global Emergency’.”

The delegates of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School - Satakshi Sati - IX , Himanshi Tanwar – IX, Gunjan Jangid – X, Riya Sharma – VIII, Aadyaa Vivek – X, Manvi Kataria – IX, Akshi Singhvi – VIII, Omeesha Kohli – VIII, Sumriddhi Sharma – XII, Gauri Baxi – XI, Kritika Gill – IX, Khushboo Vyas – XII, Kumkum Chouhan - XI showed active participation.

Result - Himanshi Tanwar of Class IX in the committee World Wide Fund bagged the laurels of ‘The Best Research’.  

It was an eye-opening experience. All the delegates learnt and enjoyed a lot.
