MAHARANI GAYATRI DEVI GIRLS' SCHOOL, JAIPUR (ENGLISH DEBATE)

"It's better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it."

Paridhi Jain of Class XII, Kirti Soni of Class XII and Manasvi Salecha of Class XI and their Teacher Incharge, Mrs Sandhya Mudgal from Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School participated in the Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial English Debate on 11th & 12th August 2021, hosted by Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School, Jaipur. It is an annual Inter-School event instituted as a tribute to the School’s Founder, Maharani Gayatri Devi.

More than 20 schools participated from all over India. It aimed at fostering the power of discourse. The two-days’ event consisted of three rounds. The first round was a recorded one. The other two were live.

In Round - 1, ‘Speech Weavers’, students were provided with a quote. They had to enact and deliver a speech on any historical or mythological character. Manasvi Salecha chose Savitri Bai Phule. Her performance was applauded by one and all. In Round - 2, ‘Poetic Prism’, Paridhi Jain and Kirti Soni spoke flawlessly in the Turncoat Debate. In Round - 3, ‘Persuasive Posse’, all the three participants debated and put their viewpoint forward in the Parliamentary form of debate.

This event was a golden opportunity for students to showcase their debating skills and learn more about their strengths and weaknesses.
