SAI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, BHUBANESWAR (ESAIMUN)

A virtual Model United Nations Conference was conducted on 30th to 31st July 2021, hosted by SAI International School, Bhuvneshwar.

SAI International Model United Nations Conference (SAIMUN) is a conceptual replication of the international committees in the United Nations (UN), held annually in the school. It is a registered event of United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC) and finds a place in their website.

Apart from the enriching debates and interesting agendas, a lot of global interactions took place during the two-day Conference which did complement the learning experiences of the delegates. For easy monitoring and better interaction, two different groups were formed, one for Classes IX and X and another for Classes XI and XII.  Each group had ten different Committees with interesting and contemporary agendas.

The girls of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School showed active participation and bagged laurels for the school, Satakshi Sati of Class IX in the Committee United Nations Environment Programme was awarded High Commendation, Himanshi Tanwar of Class IX in the Committee Social Cultural and Humanitarian Committee was awarded High Commendation and Rani Patawari of Class  X in the Committee Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) was awarded High Commendation. The participants for the same were Lomisha Khetani -XI, Rani Patawari- X, Diya Rathore -Xll, Himanshi Tanwar- IX, Kanak Joshi - XI, Satakshi Sati - IX, Shagun Varshney - XI, Sumriddhi Sharma  -XII, Jainika Sisodia- XI  and Anushka Jain - X.

The global village session conducted during the SAIMUN Conference hinted brotherhood , the common together of cultures , thoughts and history. Students from across the world proudly shared that culture tradition and their lifestyle. It provided an opportunity to have a better understanding of the world. As, the MUN in itself believes in solving worldwide issues via deliberation to ensure peace in every concerned country, it instilled in the participants, the sense of  being compassionate towards each and every person. Global Village was an enriching experience for each one of the participants. Sitting at their houses they learnt the culture of Poland, traditional food and cultural beauty of Morocco, throwing light upon Sri Lankan tradition and culture, the Wonders of Ukraine, Indonesian culture and many more giving the students a brilliant opportunity to explore 16 such countries.

It was an amazing experience to the end of the session to have a better understanding and mould the perspective for good.
