WBS CONCLAVE – SUSTAINNOVATION

It is aptly said that “A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its former dimensions”. With this view in mind and nothing but zeal in the heart, six students of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School were all set to attend the first ever virtual Welham Boys’ School Conclave - ‘ SUSTAINNOVATION’ from 21st – 27th September, 2020,  meaning innovation in tandem with sustainability of the surroundings.

The Conclave was attended by various schools of national and international prestige like Emerald Heights International School, Vidya Devi Jindal School, Maria Public School, Birla Public School, Mayo College Ajmer, Welham Girls’ School, Welham Boys’ School, Genesis Global School and Rajamata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School to name a few.

The Opening Ceremony of this virtuous virtual event was held on 21st September, Monday which was followed by a brief detail about the event guidelines. The Conclave was ramified into three broad events namely, ‘Article on Business’, ’Social Enterprise Case Study Collaboration’ and ‘Entrepreneurship Project’. The topic for the first event i.e. ‘ARTICLE ON BUSINESS’ was Global Economy in a Black Hole, the topic at hand for the   ‘CASE STUDY’ event was The Education Alliance.

The Opening Ceremony was addressed by an eminent Keynote Speaker Ms Kanika Sharma, an entrepreneur and the founder of ‘DYO-ORGANIC RESORT’ a noble initiative towards organic farming and generation of livelihood for the youth. She educated the audience about the difference between a social and business entrepreneur. This was followed by a virtual tour of the resort by Mr Gaurav Sharma, who enlightened the participants about various eco-friendly practices in DYO and highlighted the importance of organic farming.

This was trailed by five days of constant hard work, research, exchange of ideas and practice until finally the day of the Barraza Sessions arrived on Sunday, 27th of September. Participants were divided into groups and were sent to their respective Barraza sessions. In the first Barraza group, Sheetal Johari presented her views on the topic ‘Global Economy in a black hole’ and definitely left a mark on the other participants. In the second Barraza group, Paridhi Jain presented her case study on the social enterprise ‘The Education Alliance’ that stood out and was much appreciated by the moderator. In the third Barraza group, Nehal Gehlot, Jaya Sankhla and Shreya Parakh presented their entrepreneurship project ‘Sustainowud’ which was admired by all.

After, such interactive Baraza sessions the delegates returned to attend the Closing Ceremony with a scent of knowledge coupled with enjoyment.
