Dancing is always fun and exhilarating. It is more fun when you do it for your passion. During this lockdown, another wonderful opportunity was to participate in Dance activity hosted by Bangalore International School, Bangalore. Participating schools were asked to send 6 videos ; 3 videos in Junior Category and 3 videos in Senior Category. Students had send their videos of dancing in pairs and combining elements from two dance styles.
Students communicated their ideas, feelings and experiences of the present situation through Dance. The theme of the competition was “Save the World”. It was an effort to bridge the world by overcoming boundaries and coming together through Collaboration Competition, Expression and Exhibition.
RKK chose Bharatanatyam, Flamenco, Free Style, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Kathak dance forms. The following students represented RKK :
Senior Category:1. Veenushri Pungaliya & Riyanshi Kothari (Bharatnatyam + Freestyle), Song: Instrumental + Namaste
2. Ashmi Shrimali (Bharatnatyam) & Nandini Shekhawat (Hip Hop), Song: Memories by Maroon
3. Yaana Jain (Contemporary) & Diksha Dwivedi (Kathak), Song: Hymn for the Weekend by Cold Play.
Junior Category :
1. Tanvi Shah and Mehu (Bharatnatyam and Hip Hop), Song - Bad Boy
2. Suhani Birla and Sunehari Birla (Bharatnatyam and Kathak), Song - Taki Taki
3. Prachi Jain and Priyal Jain (Bharatnatyam and Flemenco), Song - Better when I am dancing.
The Mentors, Mrs Daksha Singh and Dr Piyushree Shukla, beautifully coordinated and showcased the immense dancing talent of RKKians on a big platform.
Result :
This participation provided a platform to the graceful dancers of RKK to speak through rhythm, to express our culture in this diverse world and to collaborate with others, far and near. The Fusion Dance of Suhani and Sunehari Birla choreographed under the guidance of Mrs Daksha Singh was
highly appreciated and was included in the shortlisted entries of this collaborative activity which added another achievement in the success journey of RKK.
