VIRTUAL CONFERENCE BY SCOTCH OAKBURN COLLEGE, TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA

EXCHANGE OF LEADERSHIP CULTURE

"Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality." -Warren G. Bennisthe

The single most powerful way to grow as a leader is to become truly self-aware. Such was the enriching experience which all the leaders of the school gained by participating in a Virtual Conference between RKK and Scotch Oakburn College, Tasmania, Australia held on 10th June 2020 in which 16 students leaders of RKK and 17 students from the Australian School participated. The main theme of this Virtual Conference was to facilitate the exchange of leadership culture of both the countries and to cross-pollinate the measures taken in respective countries to contribute in fighting against the Global pandemic. After a brief introduction, students discussed upon their respective leadership practices. They discussed how leaders' own conscious and unconscious beliefs drive decisions and behaviours and repeated behaviours become leadership practices. The conference helped the participants to become aware of various factors that affect leadership qualities of a person. It also helped them to analyse the ways in which a leader should react in stressed conditions. It was an esoteric and a gratifying experience which enabled the participants to look beyond their leadership culture and understand the diverse civilisation of the mankind in a better manner.

"The very essence of leadership is that you have to have vision. You can't blow an uncertain trumpet."
