Cocurricular - Round Square

THE BRITISH SCHOOL, CHANAKYAPURI, NEW DELHI

A team of six students, Khushi Lunia, Swati Punjabi, Gauri Baxi , Aastha Vyas, Hamisha Udhani and Riya Sankhla with their escort teacher, Mrs Jyoti Mathur participated in the Round Square Conference hosted by The British School, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi from 12th to 14th September 2019 on the theme “Transform your future”.

Full of excitement and enthusiasm, the RKK team was warmly welcomed by the students and teachers of the school. The encouraging address of Ms Gul Panag, the former Miss India, the Keynote Speaker in the Opening Ceremony, filled the team with enormous josh. The stage was shared by a panel of celebrated dignitaries. The students were divided into groups according to their interests like Art, Dance, Science, Music, drama etc. The highlights of the extremely fulfilling 1st day also included barazza session and INTACH walk to the historical Humayun’s Tomb.

The second day of the conference was a lifetime experience. The day started with a visit to NGO named Amar Jyoti that looks after the special children. In these incredible people, there was a fierce determination to succeed and this seemed to stem from something deep inside. Cherry on the cake was a friendly Basketball Match played by the children on wheel chairs. This site was so mesmerising and encouraging which filled the environment with positive energy and determination to excel.

The team building, brain storming Barazza Session by Ms Anita Maree taught  that together everyone achieves more. Second day ended with Gala Night and Dinner. The best part of the Closing Ceremony was that each Barazza group had to perform on the stage whatever they had learnt during the conference. The team returned with everlasting memories.
