PINEGROVE SCHOOL, SOLAN @ DEBATE


3 students, Tisha Jain, Vasvi Gupta and Jiya Jain with escort teacher, Mrs Leela Purohit attended the 3rd Mohinder Memorial Bilingual Turncoat Debate organized by Pinegrove School, Solan from 29th to 31st August 2018.

A draw of lots divided the speakers into 2 pools. Those picked an odd number had to speak for the motion in Hindi & against in English whereas those who picked an even number had to speak for the motion in English & against in Hindi. All the speakers also had to give a rebuttal of 1 minute in either English or Hindi or in both the languages.

The topics for preliminary round were :  

Pool A : To achieve success, perseverance is more important than talent.

Pool B : Behind rising India lies the surrender of national dignity.

Preliminary round decided the selection of 16 best speakers out of 34 participants.  Vasvi Gupta got selected from RKK. Same rules continued for the final round too. The topic was ‘Industrial revolution has led to an irreversible collapse of human race’. Vasvi Gupta brought laurels for herself and school by winning Consolation Prize in the Final Round.
