ST. ANNE'S SR. SEC. SCHOOL, JODHPUR (26TH V. V. JOHN MEMORIAL INTER-SCHOOL ENGLISH DEBATE)


On Thursday, November 7th, the talented debate team of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girl’s Public School headed to the annual ‘V.V. John Memorial Debate’ hosted by St. Anne's Jodhpur accompanied by our dedicated Escort Teacher & Trainer Mrs Shalini Dalal to represent our school and share their valuable take on the motion “Democracy Could Slide into Authoritarianism without a strong and vigilant opposition”.

The four student delegates included — The star debaters Aarohi Bhattacherjee and Eshal Bindra, along with the Cheering Squad, Srishti Joshi and Priyali Gandhi who represented the school with remarkable poise and intellectual fire.

The competition featured a complex and engaging motion, requiring the students to leverage hours of focused study and preparation to defend intricate arguments.

The debaters, Aarohi Bhattacherjee and Eshal Bindra, went head-to-head on the challenging motion. They showcased deep commitment and exceptional research skills, delivering compelling speeches and sharp, thoughtful rebuttals that impressed both judges and spectators. Their impeccable performances demonstrated in-depth analysis and mastery of persuasive oratory, making them a formidable duo.

Judges Shilpa Mridul, Sevantika Bhandari, and Aarti Kothari provided invaluable feedback, praising the students' intellectual rigor while offering insightful advice to ensure continued growth. They reminded the students of the importance of a confident demeanour throughout the debate, as presence and conviction are just as vital as logic; As well as the immense power of believing in oneself and trusting the hours of focused study they invested.

The delegation of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girl’s Public school brought home the Overall Winning Trophy for the competition. This collective success was powered by the individual brilliance of our debaters- Aarohi Bhattacherjee who secured the coveted First Prize and Eshal Bindra earned the impressive 1st Consolation Prize, demonstrating excellent command and argumentation skills.

The success of the day was a testament to the entire delegation! While Aarohi and Eshal earned the podium honours, our supportive cheering squad played a critical and vital role in keeping the morale high. The whole team gained tremendous exposure, learning new strategies from top debaters across the region.
