MCGSMUN - “INITIATE…NEGOTIATE…LIBERATE”


 A team of 11 students, Rudrani Rathore, Madhurima Rathore, Bhargavi Rathore, Devangini Singh Chauhan, G Laxmipriya , Ambar Kaur Johal, Guntas Grewal, Vanshika Sachdeva , Harshita Bhandari , Sheetal Johari, Ira Ali and their Escort Teacher Mrs Priti Goyal  attended the 7th session of the Mayo College Girls’ School Model United Nations held from 19th to 22nd April 2018. The Conference   headed by the theme “Initiate…Negotiate…Liberate” witnessed the presence of 21 Indian Schools with over 200 delegates. There were 8 Committees in the Conference namely – UNHRC (Georgia & India), UNHCR (United Arab Emirates & Libya), UNSC (United Kingdom), PPC (Representative Of South Africa), IOC (King Constantine - Greece & Mr. Chiharu IGAYA - Japan), IPC (The Indian Express – SMMHFW) Commission on the Status of Women, Stakeholders Meet for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Paris Peace Conference, International Olympic Committee and the International Press Corps with unique & planned agendas. Four days of the Conference were action packed and scheduled with intellectually pleasing and untiring debates of international importance. The Principal’s Dinner, D.J. and Dinner party at Pushkar & Delegate dance added a new flavour to the Conference which will be truly cherished for ever.

The Rural Awareness Campaign to Peeh Village was the highlight of this MUN Conference which was totally a different idea by the Secretariat to let the delegates know the ground reality of Indian villages. Ms Madhurima Rathore received an Honorable Mention in Rural Campaign. RKK highly appreciate and applaud this initiative.
