Road safety is increasingly becoming a major killer and a worldwide concern. It is a global tragedy with ever- rising trend. Everyday people are killed due to lack of awareness in road safety. Many people look at road safety as non – essential, but this is a major reason for accidents occurring every minute.
To avoid accidents, a driver should be careful not to break the road safety rules and for this one should be made aware about these rules. ‘Ride for a Cause’, ‘Chalo Safe Jio Safe’ are such initiatives that aims at spreading awareness among people on Road Safety.
Col. S. Gopikrishnan, additional Chief Engineer embarked on an awareness aim- Adventure Solo Cycling Expedition with a mission to spread awareness on road safety on 19th October 2018. He commenced his journey from his residence 244/2 Lancer Lines Jodhpur and after completion of 3653 km expedition reached Jodhpur back on 21st November 2018 after 1200 hours. His determination and perseverance to spread awareness on such a noble and important cause received an applause and appreciation in RKK on
26th November 2018 by RKKians of Classes IX to XII. His contribution to the society is outstanding and selfless. His contribution to the society will always be remembered because his actions today will be saving lives tomorrow.
The session conducted by Col. S. Gopikrishnan gave the students food for thought and also made them realize that their life is special and it is their duty to take care of it.
